Whether your home's decor craves a healthy dose of inspiration - or you've set your sights on that dream home - Nampa Floors & Interiors is a must-see and must-feel place to imagine the possibilities.
But be advised: You could "overdose" when you experience the contents of its newest Nampa location.
Don't be afraid to walk in, take your shoes off and let your feet sink into six different textures as you browse the carpet area. The deep chocolate, plush carpet just oozes between your toes. Another abundantly padded selection transports you to a walk on the clouds. Even if you don't have plans to remodel or build, take a stroll through the newly designed showcase center.
Today's Nampa Floors & Interiors is not the shop it was when it opened 54 years ago. And it shouldn't be. The newest store, which relocated from downtown Nampa to consolidate warehouse space and streamline operations, reflects the wide variety of flooring choices that modern-day builders and home decorators now have.
The carpet is artfully cut in curves to guide your feet and eyes through the showroom, where you'll find six wood and laminate floors to sample. At least one dozen tile, granite and quartz displays on the floor, walls and study centers will tempt you to consider an update - even if you don't think you need one. In about three weeks, two more areas will be open to the public, owner Roger Wilson said.
About 10 displays with more examples of flooring choices, cabinets and lighting will be completed, Wilson said, pointing to the work in progress. Nampa Floors & Interiors will offer Wellborn Cabinets, which are featured on many HGTV programs.
While the store features many traditional examples of home decor, it offers some surprises, too. An Italian blown glass lighting fixture has been a great hit at local home and remodeling shows. Roger’s wife Linda has added several nice touches with decor for the walls and nooks to complete the professional look that many strive to achieve in their own homes.
Wilson's answer to some of the "big box" stores that offer large inventories for do-it-yourselfers is a cash and carry warehouse that will feature about 100 good value carpets and another 200 hardwood, laminate and tile choices. It also should be finished in about three weeks.
Is Nampa Floors and Interiors your only shopping place? No. The Treasure Valley is home to many great businesses where discriminating shoppers can choose the perfect floors, cabinets and lighting.
But if you're ready to brainstorm a new home or update your old one, make sure that the newly opened showroom on Franklin Road is on the list of stores you'll visit to make your decorating dreams a reality.
